Ha, that is such a coincidence, I am just watching the last few minutes of the second episode!  :D

I am not sure what to think of the premise, but the acting, the dialogue and the character development is top-notch! And what about the poster of the series! LOL! Brilliant.

Well, maybe not with the blood spatters. ...  ;D

I just wish it wasn't on so late here. I know it needs to be, but by 10:00 on a Sunday night I'm ready for sleep.  :(

(Recording isn't the answer for me. I stopped recording TV shows years ago because I found I was never finding the time to watch what I had recorded.  :( )

I have started watching it, seen two or three episodes and I agree with Melissa the writing and characters are top notch. I find there is more gore to my liking. I could do without it, find it distracting.

I agree with you and it's the main reason why my boyfriend is not giving it a chance, he hates gore. :(

It is a little over the top, but that doesn't bother me too much.  I find the psychological aspects of it fascinating.

And Michael C. Hall is a fox.  ;D

(S02-E03) Dexter suspects that a car salesman is killing women, and he goes to check up on him, hoping the man can be his next kill, but he ends up buying a new car

"I go and stalk a new kill and I end up with a new car, how did that happen?"

Is that the best quote ever in a TV-series, or what?

I am so annoyed with myself that I completely forgot about Dex Sunday night. I was up late enough. I was watching an old movie "friend" on Turner Classics, and that ran till 10:30, but I still could have caught the second half of Dexter.  :(

More great quotes:

Dexter voice-over:
The only real question I have is why in a building full of cops, all supposedly with a keen insight to the human soul, is Doakes the only one who gets the creep from me?

Dexter voice-over:
Still, I wish my own sister weren't hunting me, makes for an awkward family dynamic.

Dexter voice-over:
I can kill a man, dismember his body, and be home in time for Letterman. But knowing what to say when my girlfriend's feeling insecure...I'm totally lost.

Dexter voice-over:
Eventually most serial killers get caught. There's really not much of a retirement plan.

(When annoyed with his sister, because she has outstayed her welcome at his house.)
Dexter voice-over:
I will not kill my sister. I will not kill my sister. I will not kill my sister.

(Rita, Dexter's girlfriend, was talking about how she wanted the bay harbor butcher to die and then told Dexter to have a nice day.)
Dexter voice-over:
Make up your mind.

Dexter voice-over:
If I had a heart, it would probably be breaking right now.

Dexter voice-over:
The voices are back, excellent.

Dexter voice-over:
Another beautiful Miami day - mutilated corpses with the chances of afternoon showers.

Dexter voice-over:
If god can preform miracles then you'd have to think that Satan has a few tricks up his sleeve as well.

Michael Hall is sooo good!

Will you be able to watch the rest soon?

Absolutely!

Imagine that. I've got the hots for a serial killer!

At least he's just a fictional one. ...

Have finished Season 1, and, sadly, Season 2 is not available on DVD or for download yet.

BTW, if you like Dexter, you may like these books:

The Apprentice - Tess Gerritsen
Body Double -  Tess Gerritsen
The Mephisto Club - Tess Gerritsen
The Sinner - Tess Gerritsen
The Surgeon - Tess Gerritsen
Vanish - Tess Gerritsen

I don't normally read this type of book, but these are real page turners and very well written.  The topic is, you guessed it, serial killers.  The protagonists are a female police detective and a female medical examiner.  They are listed out of order, sorry.  The Surgeon is the first book in the series.

I've read some Tess Gerritsen as well! I really like her books!

Season 1 is better than season 2, but season 2 is still VERY good!

What did you think of the season finale?

God I love these series!  :D

The finale was gripping and sad.  Poor Dexter lost his only potential ally.  *SPOILERS* I wish his bro had been able to leave the sister alone, and then Dexter wouldn't have had to kill him.  I can't believe I am this sympathetic to a character who is a serial killer!  The other characters in the show are also being fleshed out, which I like.  Did you find the actor who played Rudy to be cute?  I did.

Meh... I didn't find him particularly cute,  :-\ Dexter's much cuter!  :D All I knew is I didn't trust him, really, from the moment he first appeared in that hospital room I knew he was bad news! LOL! I knew he was the one getting in touch with Dexter, I didn't know he was his brother, though, that came as a surprise.

Do you have Limewire? I was able to download both seasons from Limewire...

Not familiar with Limewire.  We use iTunes.  I just checked it out and will have to ask my husband before I download it.  He will not be happy if I muck up our network.

Let me  know if it worked...  :D

Right now I'm waching Season 2 and I'm really enjoying it.  There is one thing that irks me though, neither Dexter nor his sister can speak a word of Spanish!  They work for the MIAMI police dept. and can't even communicate with their constituency?  It's very strange.

I finished watching Season 2 a while back, and am eagerly awaiting Season 3.  So, I am a Miami native and took Spanish for many years in school, in college, and I can barely speak a word either!  Not sure what that's about.  But, seriously, many Miami police officers are not bilingual.  Should they be?  Probably.  But I don't think it it a job requirement.  Glad you are enjoying the show.  I think it is great!

I don't expect them to be fluently bilingual but you'd think they would at least learn a few expressions by osmosis.  Deb actually said "no habla" instead of "no hablo" and Dexter didn't understand what "mi hijo" meant?
Anyway, I can overlook this because the show is so damn good!  :-*
