I bought this CD as soon as I found it available on iTunes, burned a CD for each of my cars, and I'm listening to this wonderful music daily!

I love this album. I found it online last week and I bought it right away.

I was gonna tell Eric about it right away, but then I found this thread. I don't know why I was thinking that Eric might not know about it yet. ::)

I got an email from Shawn Kirchner this morning.

That wasn't Ryan Harrison who posted the comment, it was his manager.

Ryan is embarassed now because it looks like blatant self-promotion.  I thought it was cute.

Need help with the lyrics here. On Meet Me on the Mountain, is it "gray still hours" or "grace-filled hours"???

This is very important!!

Thanks!

Urgent question! The lyrics are not on the Internet, far as I can tell. So, I need somebody to interpret! Thanks!!

I wonder if you can email the artist on his website and ask him for the lyrics?

Reply from Shawn:

It's definitely grace-filled hours.  But it certainly could be the other.  (One early listener thought she heard the word "grease" in there.) :)

All the lyrics are included in the liner notes for the CD

Thank you so much John! Don't know why I couldn't have emailed him, just dumbstruck with awe at his talent, I guess!

Now I realize the weaknesses of buying on itunes! No art or lyrics!! I'm gonna go out and get a real life copy, especially since I want the last song "I'll be on my Way" sung at my death ceremony, which I've already told everybody is to be on Brokenback Mountain!!

We have the opportunity for a concert!

Shawn Kirchner would like to do a concert of his new album during the L.A. weekend.

How many people are interested in attending?

How much would you be willing to spend on a ticket? Or a donation to cover the cost? I am willing to invest a little, but I probably can't cover the entire cost. It could be in the range of $2,000 plus.

I think Sunday might be the best day. What do you all think?

We would love to have all of the musicians and singers from the album, but that would be very expensive.

Shawn is willing to do the concert with just piano, guitar and 1 or 2 additional singers. This might be something we could make happen.

Please let us know what you think of the idea.

And if you haven't heard the album, check it out:

That sounds fantastic. I would love to come, and pass the hat like I did for you up in Michigan. It was very effective. Every once in a while I stopped to do a little dance, and everyone paid me to go away!!

Today I finally got my act together and bought this CD - I paid and downloaded it to my iPod.
About an hour ago I went for a walk and of course listened to it while strolling though the, at this time at night, deserted streets of my town.
When the song Meet Me On the Mountain came on, the very first snow of the year started to fall.
It was such a beautiful moment for me. How odd that I happened to buy that album on this particular day.
When the line "sometimes it brought the early snow... came on...it was powerful.¨

As I came back to my house, I fished my door key out of my pockets and noticed the two cowboy boots hanging from it. The boots that I acquired during the Brokie gathering in Stockholm a few weeks ago, and it really hit me then what an integral part of my life that BBM has become. It's f*cking everywhere! :)

I am loving this thread!
I love the song! John, what a fantastic video!
I get the same feeling reading this as i did in the arly days of my love affair with Ennis Jack and the whole BBM experience!
