Two Fathers
« on: March 05, 2008, 03:34:53 pm »
Hiya

I had this arrive in my emails this morning, so I thought I'd post it on here.   "The song, despite the introduction in the video clip, is not his personal story. He has opposite-sex parents and two siblings"
However I agree with comments below the clip, it doesn't matter, its the story of someone and its the message thats important.

I'm saving the link for my daughter for later on. Go the Dutch!

Thanks for that, Matt.

"Twee Vaders" reminds me of the Dutch name for Brokeback Mountain:  "Twee Cowboys". :) :)

hey Matt, thanks for posting that.

I speak dutch and I agree with one of the commenters that the words in dutch were a bit warmer than the translation in english, but the message came through all right.

And yeah Paul, 'twee cowboys'  :D It's been almost a year since we saw the BBM play in Holland. I never liked the dutch translation of Brokeback Mountain though. It didn't do Annie Proulx's spare story any justice.  :-\

Heya

I never realised that they changed the BBM name to 'twee cowboys'  when it was screened in Holland. Hope it wasn't screened with subtitles eh

Yeah I really like the song, pity theres no english version eh. Its available on utube as well and has had over 1.5 million hits.

Cheers

Matt
