I'm so sorry to hear about your loss Marie.  That's hard. :(

But, I love the collection of black cats here! Hooray for black cats! :)

We should start a black cat club.  ;D

Thanks for all your kind words, friends.

Jack, I'm sorry about Samson; but I'm so glad that you and Code found each other!

David, I hope we get another pet someday, too!  We're not quite ready, but it's hard being without a pet of some kind - I'm used to having a cat and a dog and right now we're pet-less.

Chrissi, "Bonnie" has the perfect name!

Amanda, I love the collection of black cats, too - how cool that there are so many in our Bettermost family!  And here's an upside down Midnight to add to the collection:

Marie

P.S. David, I'm going to check out your ghost thread - I love ghost stories!

Thank you Marie. Yes, it was very hard loosing Samson and at the time if I ever did get another cat I just assumed it would be another orange cat. Although I never planned on getting another one. But Code insisted  :) Midnight is just an absolutely beautiful cat!!! I am so sorry to hear you lost him. I know how hard that must have been  :'(

Come spend a few nights at my house Chrissi, and you'll quickly change your mind. I'm serious. Several "skeptics" have become believers after staying in my house.

She basically makes noises down there. Last year it got really noisy down there, and I actually ended up calling a priest to bless my house. Then I found out some of the noise was caused by my old water heater, so I had it replaced. The noises quieted down for a few months and then started up again. You can hear her down there banging on the pipes. I've also seen many orbs down there, but I've never actually seen her. A few of my friends have though. And we've felt the sensation of being "pushed" down the stairs. I've fallen down the stairs a couple of times. Alex and Cory have also been pushed.

I posted some info about these experiences in my "Do you believe in ghosts" thread. You can read about it in there. You should find it on the first page or two of the thread. :)

Your ghost sounds pretty mean David if she pushes people down the stairs. Are you sure it was the water heater even back then? I will read your story too. Do you have one of those big old houses? I love big old houses  :)

Nope Marie! It's not in there! I guess I was remembering the post about my house in Evansville...

I'm CERTAIN I've posted some info about my basement. I'll try to find it. If I can't I'll post some info here. It's a rather long story.

Thanks for the new link, David!  I don't blame everyone for checking into the Holiday Inn!  Yikes!

I am not sure if I believe in ghosts, but I do love ghost tours.  Have gone on ghost walking tours in London, Key West (one of the scariest), San Antonio, St. Augustine, and other places.  It's an interesting way to learn a little history.

My preview window is dark gray!

When I was 12 my parents and I went on vacation to England, Scotland and France.  While in Bath, England we took an evening ghost tour.  I remember that it was really well-done by a very talented tour-guide/ story teller.  Part of the tour felt a little bit like a history tour (blended in with the ghost stories).

But, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, I'm very, very frightened (easily) by ghost stories and things like Halloween-haunted houses.  So, I have no idea what possessed us to try going on that ghost tour.  It scared the pants off of me!  I gave my parents a miserable time that night about going to bed in the bed-and-breakfast room (which was spooky anyway) alone.  I still remember some of those stories as really scary!

Hey Jack! Well, it's not a REAL push. It's not physical. It's the sensation of BEING pushed. But it always happens on the second or third stair from the top. You feel as if you are losing your balance and then you tip forward and fall down. The weird part is, this pushing sensation happens on the staircase from the first to the second floor. The crazy lady is in the basement, so I'm not sure if it's her who's "pushing" us.

No, my house isn't very big. It's a two story house. Well, actually they call it a one and a half story. The upstairs rooms all have walls that slope about half way down, and then the bottom part is a straight wall. Lots of gables, dormer windows and little cubby hole closets up there! :)

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

That preview window fooled a few of us Susie. I think it's supposed to be that way. I think Phillip and John changed the colors. :)

Maybe the ghost that lives between the first and second floor is a friend of the crazy lady. Or maybe she is the crazy lady's keeper.

Wow, your house sounds great!!! My house is an original log cabin and it truly should be haunted due to the age of it. The logs on it go back to the Civil War or before. However, it was moved and reconstructed. Perhaps the ghosts are still where it used to be and they can't find the house  ;D I know that my mother said that before my family got that property she was showing their new place to my grandmother. The log cabin is across the way and my grandmother said that it was the log cabin where so-and-so hung themselves. However, there are other log cabins around so she may have been confused. I know I haven't see any hung men hanging around my place  :D
