I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS
« on: July 11, 2008, 09:03:23 am »
The next big gay film starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor as lovers in East Texas based on a true story.   The movie poster looks promising as they are embracing!  No looking away from each other in this film poster. This is the one that was displayed at Cannes
Check it out.

As written elsewhere "Based on the book by Steven McVicker, it's a difficult-to-describe story -- part love story, part crime thriller, part comedy -- and the makers of the low-budget indie have added to that mystique by keeping mum on many of the plot's twists and turns. This much is clear, though: Much of the story takes place in prisons, courthouses and hospitals..."

I hate this title more than any I've ever heard.  What kind of hit-you-over-the-head product placement is that?

Yeah, ANY name for Ewan McGregor's character but THAT!! >:(

Let's face it, the tobacco industry has a stranglehold on this country. We all know it's true. Sad but true none the less. Hopefully it will be a good movie. I've been hearing bits and pieces about it. :)

I sure can't resist the screenshot of the poster though.

One good thing, Philip Morris (the tobacco giant) is spelled with one "L".   :-\  ::)

I'm sorry I was so blastingly negative last night.  I just hated the point blank hyper-pro-cigaretteness.

It does look intriguing, and yay for Jim Carrey and Ewan MacGregor.

Leslie, scroll down the cast list, and tell me when you see why I suggested you do so.  :)

The trailer is out.

Long and ... very bizarre.  Not quite sure what the director is trying to do - and it seems the director doesn't know either:

Granted I can't stand Jim Carrey, but that looks dreadful.

Maybe that's just the new product-placement trend. Instead of bothering to work products into the plot, they'll just proclaim them right in the title. For Whom the Taco Bell Tolls. Coca-Cola and Old Lace. Fast Times at the University of Phoenix.
