This was part of a historical society display in New Hampshire, it's 4 feet high and 3 feet wide, each louver can be flipped to show the other side, which has a different set of numbers.

Oops! I goofed up on one of the choices. I meant to say an instrument for organizing shoes, as in a shoe store. If you wish to change your vote, you can. Just click on the "edit poll" link up at the top. :)

I also voted for Arithmetic Teaching Aid.

But mostly it reminds me of the panels in church where the hymns are shown.

I voted for "Arithmetic Teaching Aid" - but my second guess would be "Antique Calculator."  Fun game, David.  Thanks!

Ready for the answer?

Okay...................................

Get ready....................................................................

Get set...................................................................................

The answer is...................................................................................................

An Arithmetic Teaching aid!!!!!  :D

It is an arithmetic teaching aid, some say that it was used to teach students how to read numbers, others think it was also used to practice addition and subtraction.
