Mawwage.
« on: March 30, 2006, 07:49:12 pm »
Hi gals and guys,
Judy mentioned in her directory entry that she would be willing to help anyone with recipe questions... that got me thinking that we all would be able to throw Jack and Ennis a hell of a wedding, if you'll join with me in fantasy.

Judy probably gets dibs on head caterer.  I will sing.  For pre-service music I would prefer Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring but I would be willing to do Water Walkin' Jesus instead.  Or both.  Can't go wrong with Bach.

Does anyone else have services to provide or gifts to bring?

H'pie, this may be way too obvious, but don't you think our boys would prefer

'Sheep May Safely Graze' ?!

I've got nothing to add, except that I love this site.  I love that I can see who's reading, who's posted, when...makes everything transparent.  You just can't lurk around here and then show up, which makes me feel a LOT safer.

I'll think about the marriage things in a while, but let's make sure we get a different minister than Ennis & Alma had!
"Vice, Virtue. It's best not to be too moral. You cheat yourself out of too much life. Aim above morality. If you apply that to life, then you're bound to live life fully." (Harold & Maude - 1971)

And please, not Peter Cook, either (as minister, I mean)!

John,
"Sheep may safely graze" -- of course!

Didn't even think of it.
Bach also wrote a wedding cantata, a hunt cantata, and a coffee cantata.  We're gonna need some players willing to work for scale.  (And then not sue us when the wedding is a runaway success.  hahaha.)

he he. i like this fantasy topic. I think I have the wedding invites covered. along with that, the design for the guest book, place card, thank you cards, and any thing else that's printed.

along with that, with my super taichi hands, I can be the usher/bouncer, keeping the haters away.

Wow.  I bet you have.

Maybe I would stand by the Nipith-designed guest book and hand people their colored markers to draw and write in it.

For a couple of halloween parties I made cut-out sugar cookies iced with messages like

BARF
SNOT
CHENEY
PISS
VERMIN

...many fun yucky words.  Some are not reproducible for a family forum.  Anyway, it got me thinking about messages on Jack and Ennis's wedding cookies.  I think maybe just

hunh?

and

Yee-HAW!

would suffice.  An Ennis cookie and a Jack cookie.

Sorry, I'd only bring myself wearing a black armband (as I did at one friend's wedding).  I'm not a proponent for marriage for ANYone (unless you want children, then that's only for the legal protections allowed by law).

Hey, wuv this topic!

I'll be the DJ for the reception, and can also lead the crowd when it's time to do the Electric Slide or the line dancing!

And if Jack and Ennis want massages to calm down any pre-wedding jitters, I'll be more than happy to oblige!
