I would guess it's a ski area in the West, because those in the Eastern US have more trees.

It's Phillip's photo, altho his travels, except for the Alberta pilgrimage, are around the proverbial coffee pot lookin for the handle, I gather!

Speaking of gadding about, last weekend I was at a ski area even more beautiful than this. Closed down, too. It was just south a Brokenback Mountain in the Big Horns!! And Brokenback was just as beautiful and inspiring as always!!

Here's a shot of the Cloud Peak Range just east of Brokenback, with a touch of alpenglow:

That image is taken from the Snake River Valley in southern Idaho.  I did not take it, but licensed it for use here.

It's on the kitchen laptop so next time I fire it up, I'll put the original up for folks to see.
