For those of you who don’t know, our friend Pete has been having ankle problem for a few months now. After a recent MRI, the doctor said that there is a lot of scar tissue at the joint, a cyst in the bone, a bone spur, fluid in the joint, a bruised bone, and a hairline fracture, etc. Bottom line, he needs ankle surgery. Here is an update from Pete.
"I had surgery on my ankle this morning. It went well and the doc said it was successful, BUT . . . he told me that my ankle was in worse shape then the MRI indicated. He hopes that the damaged bone will regenerate, but if it doesn't (an unknown at this point), I will need a second surgery to do a bone graft from my heel.
I will be back on crutches for at least a month. I cannot put any weight on it and I need to stay off it, elevate it, and ice it for the next 72-96 hours. For the next month, I need to elevate it as much as possible when sitting or lying down."
Please keep Pete in your thoughts. Hope that our collective well wishes will get him a speedy recovery, and no need for second surgery.
Pete, I hope you can still make our gathering on 7/18 (Keep my finger crossed). But of course, under the condition that it won’t impact your ankle.
