Our Tremblayan Founding Father
« on: April 02, 2006, 12:34:34 pm »
When I just saw the thread called "Brandon," I thought maybe it was going to be a thread honoring Brandon (current username Ennis_delMar) as we make this transition to our new home.

Some may not realize that Brandon truly is our Tremblayan Founding Father.  When the homophobes were uglifying the BBM board so badly, Brandon found us a new place to post.  For our new home, he chose the IMDb board of the additional first assistant director on BBM, a fellow named Pierre Tremblay.

Brandon invited a few of us, who invited a few of us, who invited a few of us.  He was like Joan of Arc, or Moses.  And the rest is history.

Three cheers for Brandon!  Hip hip hooray!  Hip hip hooray!  Hip hip hooray!!!

Thanks, Clarissa, for the reminder.

I remember well that Brandon built the ark when it started to rain.

And just when we got comfortable on dry ground.... Well.

It's nice to be HERE!  :)
I know I shall meet you on that final day! Water Walkin' Jesus, take me away...

Many thanks to Brandon for the Tremblayanismification, and who brought us over to BetterMost? Was that Brandon too?

It's interesting and rather sad to visit the PT board now, and TOB.

Yep Brandon was our Moses..He led us to the Promised Land that became know to one and all as Chez Tremblay! A a round of Huzzaa's for Saint Brandon the Intrepid, Visionary, Explorer and High Priest of the Temple of Heathens :o

I also want to remember and give proper Acclaim to Chris,  aka slayers_creek_oth to some of you, for being our Nathan the Prophet and annointing Brandon to go out and seek a new place for our People.  He is one of the original IMDb Brokies and was a board leader with increbile insight and info sharing from day one.  So  All hail Chris The Venerable Slayers the Great, King, Troll Slayer, Soothsayer, Prophet and Defender of the Holy Harmonica! LOL  ;D

Cheers to you BOTH, We would not be here with your original inspiration

So THAT'S how Chez Tremblay got started!

I never heard the history and didn't ask because I was concerned it was a secret that maybe should be kept a secret.

Thanks and a tip of the old Resistol to our heroes Brandon and Chris!

When I think back to first joining CT, I remember being SOO utterly thrilled and thankful to be part of such a wonderful, intelligent, open-minded, fun, and diverse group. And I thought "Wow, what a BRILLIANT idea!" At TOB, many of the posters would come and go and half of them were childish fools who came to IMdB only to bash this beautiful film and insult its fans, so it was hard to feel close and build a connection with people. Because of the trolls and haters, I was very close to leaving TOB and obsess over BBM on my own (and I vocalized this intention on TOB), until jmmgallagher PMed me and informed me about CT (a BIG thanks, btw). I thought "Okay, okay, I won't give up" and gave the PT board a shot. I absolutely fell in love. I can't even begin to tell you all just how amazing it is to have met you all! I can't see myself ever quiting y'all (nah, I won't insert that infamous quote  ;)). I can see myself on here a little more than a year from now celebrating the one year anniversary of the DVD. The trolls thought they could bring us down, but we proved that it was not the place that matters, but the people.

To wrap it up, thank you Chris (slayers) for encouraging the CT idea,
Thank you Brandon for initializing it,
Thank you Jmmgallagher for inviting me to CT.
Thank you Clarissa (Elle) for bringing us here to BetterMost,
Thank you Philip for creating this place,
And thank you all, my Tremblay family, for showing me love, making me feel like a part of something amazing, and for making me feel like a better person in this world that can too often be intolerant and hateful. My glass went from half full to completely over-flowing.
