Alien! Brokeback
« on: August 25, 2006, 06:54:23 pm »
Just because I needed a BIG distraction, I have started an extremely irreverent Alternate Universe! fiction about Jack and Ennis on Brokeback Mountain, which is a parody of AU fics.  "Alien!Brokeback"

http://louisev.livejournal.com/98914.html  "1.  Big Fuckin Flash a Light"
http://louisev.livejournal.com/99238.html  "2.  The Change"
http://louisev.livejournal.com/99481.html  "3.  New Aspirations"

Updates will be posted on this thread as the spirit moves me.

I haven't read any yet, but I sure do love that first title!

Hmnnn... I am reminded of Invasion... a new series on ABC this past spring ... people/hybrids healed very quickly.  i quit watching invasion when I became obsessed with all things Brokeback.

As a distraction from some of my worldly woes, I took up writing a parody of AU "Alternative Universe", alternative-ending stories based on BBM.  If you ever wondered how Ennis and Jack could possibly end up doing some of the things they do in fan fiction, you might want to investigate a lighthearted review of what Ennis and Jack think about all that!

Oh my God! I've just discovered this. Am sat at my desk at work trying to surpress the tears of laughter and my colleagues are wondering what on earth I've read that could be THAT funny!

I must confess that I am a fan of AU Fan Fiction, but this parody is just too funny.

Thank you for brightening up my first days back from my hols.

you are welcome!  I was wondering if anyone noticed this... I did it for my own amusement.  It is awfully fun to write Ennis and Jack in a comic mode, this I can tell you.

Hey Louise

It's Friday night here in London and I've had a couple of glasses of cava whilst reading your exellent series. I always thought that I'd hate any BBM fan fiction that didn't inclde some sort of happy resolution for Jack and Ennis, but what you've written is wwonderful, and gripping and very entertaining!

I must admit it took me a while to get used to Ennis becoming so (comparatively) relaxed about his love for men. However, now that I am in the midst of book 4 the thought that entered my mind was what would Jack's reation to the new adventerous Ennis would be. I mean... dildos, bondage, butt plugs!!!!!!!!!!!! He'd be stunned. But happy for Ennis I think.

Mmmmm.. are these characters real.

Anyway - just wanted to let you know that even now people are discovering your wonderful writing. Thank you.

Ahh.... Cava..(please blame the Spanish fizz for any rambling or glaring spelling mistakes). ;D

Have a good weekend.

Karen

Oh yes!  I suck at golf, I'm not too great at parallel parking, I think that green goes with pink, and I can never get my hair to lie flat when I put it up.

And I can't tie a tie.
And I never clean my house.
Or make the bed.
Can't cook worth a damn.

You had to get me started didn't you?

Hehehehe but Louise...these are totally unimportant things aren't they?? Okay, the hair bit can be really frustrating!
I can't cook worth a damn either! Are you pretty good with a .........can opener though?? LOL
Hate making the bed!
Hate parallel parking too! Although in The States with Helen I managed to get the car into quite a small parking spot all in one go! I was amazed at myself! Truly! lol
Don't really mind cleaning the house, as long as I have the time and don't feel rushed. Plus I do have somebody that cleans along with me  :D I'm lucky, she's a sweetheart.
Well, if these are the only things you suck at, I'm impressed!!  ;D

I think from here on out I am going to get author permission for more Alien!Brokeback segments.  I try to make my parodies aimed for the amusement of audience and author alike, and it is a fine line to walk  I will consider doing some at the end of the run of the L.S.!

now that one, Max and Isabel,

I can DEFINITELY do!

Anyone here for an Alien!Brokeback chapter where Max and Isabel are called out of Roswell to meet up with some "contacts" in the Absarokas and stumble on a trail leading up to the trailhead and Aguirre's sheep operation?

muah hahahahaha.

Max and Isabel Evans from the series 'Roswell'

that was a damned good series, so good it will be around 50 years from now. they dealt well with prime and primary emotions and attachments in a series built around horny teenaged aliens

lol

3 years running, an incredibly motivated audience got that series kept on the air when the ratings didn't warrant it. The serious critics were crazy about it, they loved it

My kid might have taped it. I have the final season on dvd but if I sent it the wife would have a fit, she is a Roswell fanatic. On the other hand there is a big sale at the Cherry Creek Mall---let me see what I can do Louise.

*yes!!!*

I will also do a search down here, but I dont know anything about the DVD systems here and if they have anything.  I would just as well buy zone 1 or 2 DVDs as once I get back to Europe (yes I am counting the MINUTES!) I can actually share it with my non technological friends who would find it appalling that I watch DVDs on a laptop.

Don't worry about other perceptions Louise---my geeky techno brother--sold his tv and only watches dvd on his laptop computer, for the last 2 years, say it is cheaper and easier.
Course he just got married and inherited new tv system with 3 step children and cable, so his life is taking a dramatic turn for reality. LOL

Can you find any "all region" 0 dvds--then they should play on any player.  I know you can buy all region dvd player, and some regional players can be made into 0 region players.

I decided to bump this thread in case anyone needs a bit of light reading to help them get over this tragic week.

Alien!Brokeback starts here:

http://bettermost.net/forum/index.php/topic,4084.0.html and is a set of parodies of well recognized AU! stories about Ennis and Jack.  Takes place in 1963...

OR DOES IT?
