I will miss it too. But a fortnight is still a fairly long time. So I'm looking forward to some more pictures in the meantime! :)

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

I, too, will miss this thread when it comes to an end.  :'(

It's become part of my daily routine. Most every day, just before dinner time each evening Sydney time, (in the wee small hours of the pre-dawn morning US time), I pop online briefly and post the daily pics.

I'd never intended it to become so monumental! When I made the inaugural post back in November last year, it was initially my intention to just make one post, quoting the link to thisisoz and leaving it up to each individual to follow-up at the site, if they felt they wanted to do so. In that first post, I added pics of my two favourite placard holders at the time - Matthew Mitcham, the gay Australian Olympic gold medalist; and Clover Moore, the Lord Mayor of Sydney.  :)

That was just over four months ago, and 11,879 views later!   :o

Yes, we could go over and see the pics on the thisisoz site. But this thread brings so much positivity to BM that I'm glad to have it here. It makes a wonderful statement.
I also will be sad to see it come to an end. But we still have a while before it comes to it. :)
(Four fuckin months? - Time sure flies!)

VALE
John Richardson
1963-2010

I was saddened to read in this week's edition of the Sydney Star Observer (gay newspaper) of the death of John Richardson, Vice President of the Harbour City Bears, whose thisisoz pic I posted in January (see above). John was a tireless worker for charity, specifically the Inspire Foundation, which advocates for young people's mental health and well being.

Here is what the Sydney Star Observer article said:

Vice President of the Harbour City Bears, John Richardson, died on Tuesday, March 16. He is survived by his partner Peter Bayfield.

Peter and John became Australia's first legally married gay couple, after tying the knot in Peter's homeland of Canada.

Harbour City Bears President, Jonny Bastin, remembered a man full of energy and vision for the club's progress.

"John was so enthusiastic about working with the community. He had a vision for what Harbour City Bears could be, other than just being a social club," Jonny Bastin said.

John had pushed for the Harbour City Bears' involvement with the Inspire Foundation, anti-homophobia campaigns and safe-sex campaigns.

"John was able to engage with other community organisations and clubs to push for the wellbeing of our community."

As a token of respect, there will be no new posts to this thread today.

RIP
