Every year The Friends of Scotland put on a fashion show known as Dressed to Kilt to promote Scottish designers and raise money for a worthy cause. (Proceeds from the last two years have gone to charities that support wounded war vets.)

The theme this year event was Country Chic: "Scottish couture meets country and western."  

You might be surprised to learn that, according to their website Dressed to Kilt ranks as the highest profile Scottish event in the world (including Scotland) and one of the top 3 fashion shows in the world (right behind Victoria’s Secret)!

The show his heavy on the kilts, obviously, but the unifying theme is whimsical haute couture with a Scottish sensibility. This is a fun show with a weird mishmash of celebrities, models and athletes of claimed Highland heritage participating. Here are some photos from Tuesday night's event in New York....
