As usual from me, no links
but I heard on the NBC news on Tuesday that both Erich Segal, author of
Love Story, and Robert Parker, author of the "Spencer" detective novels, have died.
It seemed to me that NBC spent more air time on Segal than on Parker. They showed a clip from the movie of
Love Story of Ali McGraw uttering to Ryan O'Neal the famous line, "Love means never having to say you're sorry." (Oy, they both looked so young. ...
). The story also claimed that Oliver, the character played by O'Neal, was inspired by those two famous college roommates Al Gore and Tommy Lee Jones.
