We made a slight detour, to pick up some cigars.

(We also went via Cairo, but the pics didn't turn out very well).
Finally, arriving in Georgia. It didn't look much different to Florida, but the people spoke strangely.

The motel, that night, was cool. Very well landscaped. Lots of snapdragons.
And breakfast was as good as the flowers.

Next morning, we stopped off at Petticoat Junction for coffee.
Cherry pie was the closest thing available to cherry cake.
Just the thing for weary travellers.

Next highlight was Savannah. Very historic, and really worth the trip.

The Savannah tourist centre had a plaque outside, celebrating the American loss in a battle against the British in the War of Independence.
Kelda (if you can see it), note it mentions one of the the allies of the British were the 'Scotch' Highlanders ! (grrr).
(I guess they had to drink a lot of it to keep their 'spirits' up.

There are still some very old, picturesque cottages in Savannah.

Including this one. The oldest in Savannah, dating back to the time of Moses and almost falling down, and where we had a great lunch.
