Hi David, I'm just now catching up on your blog and I was enjoying your pictures of Indianapolis. The ones of Christmas on Monument Circle remind me of when my high school choir sang took a field trip there to sing carols. I remember how hard it was to keep from dropping in pitch in the cold air with the poor outdoor acoustics. At a certain point our lovable irascible director, 'Pop' Watkins, made an impatient sign to the piano to drop out since by then we were singing in a different key than Cathy was playing in.
And...Woodruff Place! A name I last heard my mother say, many years ago. I think it was special to her. It was not that far since we were on the East Side by Christian Park, which you said has been restored. Would you mind checking the links for those some time, I am not seeing those pictures though I can see the ones of Monument Circle. The ones of Woodruff Place were on p. 482. I love those fine OLD houses (as we Americans consider them to be, as you said!) Boston has some beauties too, I often go on my own walking tours to historic residential districts in Boston and adjacent Brookline and Newton.
It's good to be here, it's good to have you here.
