There's a group here in town that jump into icy lakes during the winter and go swimming! :o

They call themselves "The Penguin Club" and most of them are men (in fact I think all of them are) and they range in age from about 18 to as old as the upper 70s! They sometimes appear on the news and it makes me shiver just watching them jump in that cold water! There is NO WAY I would ever do it. :P

Hey David, we have them here, too.   In fact, the oldest ice swimming club in the US is the "L Street Brownies" in South Boston.  Also, mostly men, young to quite old, and they are famous for taking the plunge into Boston Harbor (or, "hahbah" as we say) on New Year's Day.  L Street has a famous bath house in "Southie", but I have no idea why they're called Brownies.

Here's the bath house, built in 1931:

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!

I was thinking about you last night, David, before I met with the vice-mayor of St. Augustine.

 ::)

That's a story for another time.

Between my bank and my Guinness is a Native American store.  I took pictures of it for you, which I now realize will probably just bog down your system.

Anyhow, there was a nice plaque outside, which is the part that reminded me of you in the first place:

"May the warm winds
of Heaven blow softly
upon this place, and
May the Great Spirit bless
all who enter here."

That's a really beautiful blessing Lynne! That store sounds very interesting too. What all do they sell in there? Traditional things? Or do they sell souvenirs and things like that?
