Spider-Man Movie Pictures
Take a sneak peek at the very action packed first snaps from the set

Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man
With hot newcomer Andrew Garfield and Notting Hill star Rhys Ifans on board, action blockbuster Spider-Man is set to be a bit of a Brit-fest. And now we've got our hands on the very first snaps from the set. It seems the super hero has had a bit of a makeover in action packed shots. Donning a super-tight, (and altogether more modern!) Spider-Man outfit, the brand new pictures make us really quite excited about the film.

On Location Photos

Last night, the Spider-Man Reboot returned to S. Grand Ave in Los Angeles to shoot another stunt scene.

During last night’s shoot both Andrew Garfield (who plays Spider-Man) and a stuntman were on location taking turns filming a scene in which Spidey swings over the “New York City” traffic. In the photo above Andrew is climbing the ladder to for a shot on top of the truck while the stuntman can be seen standing next to him in the black jacket.

We’ve heard that a small second unit may be filming at the same location again tonight too.

Check out more photos from last night’s shoot and remember, if you have any on location photos you’d like to share, you can let us know at [email protected]!

Spidey to Return in 'The Amazing Spider-Man'

Sony announces new 'Spider-Man' title, which takes a cue from the popular Marvel comic

By Brent Lang
TheWrap.com

Along with its new cast and new director, now the "Spider-Man" reboot can add new title to the growing list of fresh changes to the big-budget superhero franchise.

Columbia Pictures announced Monday that the title of the next Spider-Man film will be "The Amazing Spider-Man."

The studio simultaneously released the first photo of star Andrew Garfield wearing Spider-Man's full mask and suit.

Last month, it showed a shot of a pensive-looking Garfield sans mask.

The film, which is now in production, is being shot entirely in 3-D. It swings into theaters on July 3, 2012.

It stars Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May.

The film is directed by Marc Webb ("500 Days of Summer") from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves, based on the Marvel comic book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the Marvel Entertainment production for Columbia Pictures. The executive producers are Stan Lee, Kevin Feige and Michael Grillo.

Thanks for posting these trailers, John! Andrew seems like he would be a grittier, more conflicted Spiderman, but I also like Tobey Maguire's portrayal. I don't know why people are always dissing him. He has a sense of humor and also brings a humility to his roles. He reminds me of Heath in that way.

Thanks, Lee--I like Tobey, too!

'Amazing Spider-Man:'
Andrew Garfield's angst

By Steven Zeitchik
February 7, 2012 |  5:09pm

Any lingering notion of a shoegazing Spider-Man trying to make it quietly in the halls of his high school went out the window Tuesday with the release of the full trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man.”  Instead, in flew the action spectacle that is Sony’s superhero reboot, which comes to theaters July 3.

The trailer shows huge set pieces of the kind you wouldn’t expect from director Marc Webb -- who previously helmed the, well, shoegazing romance “(500) Days of Summer" -- as Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man flies over, into and through buildings.

The essential battle in the film -- penned by "Harry Potter" veteran Steve Kloves -- seems to be one of Garfield vs. Garfield, as Spider-Man runs amok, and possibly even into conflict with Peter Parker. “I’ve got to stop him. I created him,” Parker tells love interest Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), presumably referring to his webbed alter ego.

The story line also evokes elements of “The Dark Knight” and its ilk, as a “masked vigilante” flouts the law and taunts law enforcement efforts, headed by George Stacy (Denis Leary), father of Gwen. And unlike the Sam Raimi-Tobey Maguire editions, there’s a key character here in one Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), a scientist who had worked with Parker’s father and who seems to hold the solution to several of the film’s mysteries.

Not likely to be lost on fans of the original films is the trailer’s declaration that this is “the untold story.” In other words, disregard everything you’ve been told before.
