Cinema Verite debuts on HBO; story of the Loud family
« on: April 17, 2011, 01:25:19 pm »
On HBO tonight will be a dramatization of the first reality TV show which debuted on public  television in the US in the 1970s. It's the story of the Loud family, the parents Bill and Pat, and their four children, including son Lance. Tim Robbins and Diane Lane star. I've heard that the original series will be aired as well. WOuld be interested in hearing your thoughts and reviews.

It was 1973, and Lance was 22 years old (although here he says 21).

What great information! Thanks, friend!! Also, a few years ago I saw a show about Lance's years post American Family. It was moving and sad. Especially when Rufus Wainwright sang at his memorial service. I happen to know one of the other Loud children, who lives a very ordinary life these days in an American suburb.

I guess Lance suffered the fate of so many gay men of his generation.  :'(
