Sad news.  :(

With that association to Temple University School of Medicine, was he a Philadelphia area resident? Nothing in this morning's Inquirer. I should try to search on line.

May he be at peace.

I was just reviewing his posts here and they are very insightful. Here's one he wrote in the Religious Imagery thread:

"Joe Aguirre, wavy hair the color of cigarette ash and parted down the middle," etc.  Ashes parted down the middle is what will eventually become of poor Jack."

According to a good friend of Steve's over at DC, he was an M.D. and worked in Philadelphia until his diagnosis.  He was from Dallas, and moved there to be near his mother.  "Dal" was the symbol for Dallas' Love Field Airport.

His sister said the memorial service might be in October; I intend to keep checking.

I didn't have many interactions with Steve on DCF, he posted in the more serious sections of the fourm, while I tend to be in the "lighter" areas of the forum.

I am grateful that I had the opportunity to meet him at three NYC Brokie gathering where we had time to talk face-to-face.

Steve was a very insightful and witty person, and I'm very glad that I had the opportunity to meet him at these gatherings.   I am sure you are at peace now, and I send thoughts of love and strength to your family.
