Jeff, I believe he was an English professor.

Thanks. Nosey of me, I suppose, but I'm interested to know.

I'm so sorry to hear of chowhound's passing.  I had no idea he was a college professor and a Canadian.  Thanks for letting us know, Marie.  I'm sorry for your loss.  :(

This are sad news. As most of us, I didn't know Chowhound - Eric - but I enjoyed his informative posts about our movie and story. I'm sorry to learn of his passing. My condolences to his family.

I don't believe I ever communicated with him directly, but sad none the less to see another remarkable person pass from this world. May he rest in peace and happiness.

Here was his last post from September of last year:

"When commenting on the age and build of the hustler, it may be worth remembering that this is, in fact, the film's photographer, Rodrigo Prieto. Apparently, he stepped into the role at the at the last moment when the actor who was supposed to play the role was somehow unavailable.

Roderigo Prieto is indeed Mexican. He was born in Mexico City in 1965 so he'd be around 39 when this shot was taken."

He had last visited Bettermost in March of this year.

I believe he learned he was ill a few months earlier than that.  He gave a good fight.  I actually thought he would make it!  :'(

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!
