When the ruling (or non-ruling) came down on Monday, we decided to get married as soon as we could, though we had been talking about it for quite a while, and when it looked like there would be no appeal a few months ago we were ready then. But then the Commonwealth appealed pro-forma. Still, The Supreme Court denial of cert was so unexpected! We got the license on Tuesday, and were planning to marry then, but the only civil celebrant available (no one expected this ruling when it happened) refused to marry us, no reason given but we found out later it was because of religious grounds. His name is no longer on the County list of approved civil celebrants. I left messages with the other ones, and the first one to call back I arranged to meet late Thursday afternoon. We went down there near the courthouse and got married in his office suite, where the pictures were taken.
