IMDb message boards ended...?

It seems to be true: IMDb no longer runs message boards. I had no warning. There are a few messages I might have wanted to save. But a vast amount of movie knowledge was shared on those boards, and of course that's where all us Chez Tremblayans came from. SHAME.

Yes, Leslie (MaineWriter) posted abut this maybe two weeks ago on FB.
Apparently instead of fighting trolls they just shut the whole thing down. Easiest and cheapest solution on their part.

I haven't participated on their message boards since back then, but have now and then used them for that exact reason. And of course, it's where we all came from, so they had a sentimental value for me. Bummer.

I was never a part of those boards, but I can imagine I'd be very upset if they were just gone.

Some of those IMDB boards were saved and can be found at moviechat.org. But i suppose it's just a fraction of the original ones...
