Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

<< < (2/3) > >>

Front-Ranger:
I have a lot of catching up to do in my yard. If I socialize it will only be with my family and my chickens. I got three on Monday.  :)

Jeff Wrangler:
I'm at my dad's right now. Tonight we had grilled chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, and brussels sprouts for supper. I'll be returning to my own place tomorrow, and on Monday, Memorial Day proper, I expect to have grilled chicken, potato salad, and baked beans, and maybe ice cream for dessert.

Jeff Wrangler:
For a postlude at the end of church this morning, the organist played the Navy hymn, "Eternal Father, Strong to Save."

CellarDweller:
Two days of solid rain.  Didn't bother me, but I'm sure that a lot of people's plans (if they lived in this area, anyway) were wrecked.

Tomorrow it's supposed to be sunny and 70 degrees.

Front-Ranger:
How was everyone's holiday? I was thinking of you all. I didn't have many plans and it's a good thing. I woke  up extra early on Saturday; my heart was beating very fast. An hour later I woke up again with the same problem. I tried to have a normal morning, but after lunch I fell asleep for two hours and was just dragging myself around. I thought myself into the surety that I was in danger of a heart attack, so I drove myself to the ER and had them check it out.

They didn't find anything, so I was released about 6:30 pm. The diagnosis was heart palpitations which could be caused by several things but at the top was anxiety. In the ER, I had a lot of time to think while I was waiting for tests to come back. I feel that I must make some changes within my permaculture  group. It has been getting worse and worse this year. While I was preoccupied with the happy birth and wedding activities I was fine but after those were over, the heartbreak (literally) of this failed group hit me again. I'm of the opinion that the only way the group can survive is if we sever our ties to the bully instructor who's trying to bring us down.

The rest of the holiday was uneventful. I treated myself to some Tom Ka soup from the Thai restaurant, and played with my chickens. I didn't see family but did stay in touch. It was very rainy but I did manage to plant my tomatoes.
