1970's homophobic hollywood murder
« on: October 23, 2006, 11:09:20 pm »
Sal Mineo, who played opposite James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause, was murdered in 1976.  :'(

I think this is quite odd. I think Mineo was in fact gay in real life (as he was quoted as saying he fell in love with JD while filiming Rebel) well, who couldn't fall in love with JD  ;)

anyways, i guess he was playing a gay character in a movie, and he went in a alley and was stabbed to death...thats messed up.

he was only 37

That really makes me wonder about something. Do you think maybe they did have something going on between each other then?

After all, many people believe James Dean was gay (or at least bisexual). At least this is what many people say here in Indiana.

I didn't know Sal Mineo was gay (but I certainly wouldn't doubt it either). Yeah, James Dean was a hunk. He's buried about 60 miles north of where I live. They have a festival for him each year.  :)

Yes. That story about Sal Mineo being murdered is very tragic and sad.  :'(

In fact, after i posted the link, i read on and gay pornography was found in Mineo's room ::)

I think James Dean was bisexual. Not that i longed for it, but because i understand his character. I'm such a huge fan of him now, but thats irrelevent.

Mineo said JD told him to look at him the way he looked at Natalie Woods (who was also in Rebel)

I think James Dean would be flattered if he was still alive to have such accusations. I think he was, but i really don't care.

Thats weird that guy was gay bashed...
