Oh, I found the scene, relatively quickly.Ok...... bear with me.The book of "The Shining" and the movie are two completely different things. There are things in the book that don't happen in the movie, things in the movie that don't happen in the book.In the movie, there is the party scene, where Jack is talking to the bartender. In the book, during that scene, there is a man in a tux, and a man in a dog suit. The tux man is giving the "dog" commands, and the dog is following them.A spirit approaches and explains that the "dog" is gay. Tux man is bisexaul. Tux man is unable to decide to spend his time with a woman, or "dog". The man in the dog suit wants Tux man all by himself. So they made a deal.
