I found a wonderful candidate for Katy's favourite category: words that would be connected if they were totally different words. But unfortunately I could only find two of them: mine and mayo. How fun if the category was Words that are occupations if you put an R last  ::)


Besides, my dictionary tells me that the word soy originates in Japanese, not Spanish.

Not really true.  Completely independent origins.

Soy of course is Japanese (although it was originally from China as shi-yu). 
But "soy" in Spanish is the first person singular conjugation of the verb "ser", or to be.  It originally comes from the Latin. 

Yo soy = I am.
