My Wellingtons tasted better than those.

Have you heard about the vegetarian Beef Wellington made with mushrooms? Is it worth trying?

Sure, I've seen recipes for it.  You'd have to really like mushrooms, I think.

Unlike Jeff, I was in bed by 10!

I just read a gay murder mystery where the victim died from a poison extracted from mushrooms.

Then my traditional Beef Wellington, individual, with duxelles and foie gras.  Perfectly rare this year!
The duxelles were made with mushrooms? What variety did you use, baby bellas?

I had a martini without the gin while I was babysitting. Then, when I got home, I had an Argentinean Malbec made by Bota Box. I've started getting a box wine because I usually don't finish a bottle of wine before it goes stale, and the Bota Box wine stays fresh for 30 days. I listened to Hauser, as usual.

I did have artichokes...chopped up with spinach, garlic, and melted cheese in a dip. I sliced up a take-and-bake sourdough baguette to scoop up the dip. Along with that I had grilled salmon in a citrus-mustard sauce, rice cooked with carrots, and pickled red cabbage. Home made mince meat pie for dessert.

Would've liked EdelMar to join me but he had a party to go to, one where women were probably not present.

Forgot to mention that my daughter laid out a very nice charcuterie board for dinner before I babysat. My 4-year-old grandchild always corrects me that it's "kidsitting" not "babysitting". But her younger brother is only 19 months old, so we're in that gray area between kids and babies.

So that would be, like, a drop of vermouth and an olive? Or a larger glass of vermouth?

Sounds great!  :)

Yes, just a glass of vermouth. I bought a large bottle of vermouth recently because I want to make grapefruit Vermouth marmalade.

Yes, creminis and thyme and shallots, deglazed with cognac.
