Wow, Eric, I'm impressed!

Today is the very first time I listened to BBM radio. You're doing a great job. I love it.

I had read the lyrics to "A cowboy's born with a broken heart" and now I heard the song for the first time. Awww, sad but a great song.

Then there played a song I hadn't heard in yers and years. I didn't know the singer nor the name of it (now I do, it was Glen Campell "Gentle On My Mind").

And right the next one was a song of the Goo Goo Dolls.

(I don't have to mention I love the BBM soundtrack, do I?)

Bottom line is: a big compliment for you and for BBM radio. I recommend it! Try it if you haven't yet.

Howdy.

When listening to Brokeback Mountain Radio, keep voting for your favorite (or not so favorite) tracks, even if you have already voted 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' already! The reports we get are on a thirty-day rotation, so if you voted for a track thirty days ago, your vote is no longer valid. Also, tastes change. A track you may not have liked a few weeks ago, may have grown on you by now. It could work the other way too. Maybe you're sick of hearing a particular track... Regardless, even if you've already voted for a track, if you can, vote again as often as you can when listening to the station!

BBM Radio Live Broadcast Picture Slide Show

During our live broadcast Monday night (01/22, at 9:00PM EST/6:00PM PST), we will present a BBM picture slide show to accompany each new song as it is debuted live! There will be a new post for each song as it debuts, and each post will feature the name and artist of the song, and a few pictures from BBM that the song relates to. This will be a truly emotional experience.

As each new song starts playing, simply refresh the page to see the new post with the pictures for that song playing.

We will also be having a live chat session in the chat room during the live broadcast. Please feel free to join us!

Well, I heard one of my song suggestions; "Not A Day Goes By" by Lonestar! I just love that song. It makes me think of Jack and Ennis every time I hear it.

What a great show that was........took me a while to get the radio working again here, but I got it, and sat back, and listened and looked at the pics on the slide show at the same time.....couldnt help thinking what a clever idea it all was, and I enjoyed it very very much....Thank you to all involved in making it happen.

By the way, was "Come Away with Me" by Nora Jones, from my suggestion?......I hope I had something to do with it.

I lietened to every song and very few were clunkers for me.
And I know these are not clunkers for other people, so I say you chose extremely well Eric.
I recommended "Song of Wyoming" at one point.
And you played it by Chris Ledoux - actually a better vrsion than the John Denver one I was familiar with. Less pop and more country.

I had given up on listening to Bread, but even they fitted in so nicely.

Excellent show Eric.
I'll tune in more often now.

Yippee! belbbmfan correctly answered that the new song on the station is Jackie Green's "I Will Never Let You Go" (which appears in the movie during the "What're ya waitin for Cowboy, a matin' call?" scene).

Originally published in THE NEW YORKER and then as part of the collection CLOSE RANGE, Annie Proulx's short story packs a punch. Cowboys Jack Twist and Ennis del Mar find love or something like it watching over a herd of sheep one summer on Wyoming's Brokeback Mountain. Their lives diverge and intersect again and again as they simultaneously resist and are drawn into a doomed, impossible romance.

Campbell Scott's clear reading puts Proulx's beautiful and harsh language front and center. The story is mostly straight narration, but there are a few chances for dialogue, and Scott gives the various characters subtle Western shading, with a gentle drawl for Jack and a gravelly growl for Ennis. It's a timeless story that stands up to repeated listening and will stay with listeners long after the broadcast.
