Missin' you...a shout out to the CT community
« on: April 09, 2006, 11:30:29 pm »
Hi everyone! (wow it feels different to be standing center stage here in our new periwinkle home...)

I've been barely here at all the past three days or so, maybe four, and in case anyone was wondering, I wanted to explain why...don't get nervous, I ain't goin nowhere--at least not for good. I've just had a bit too much on my plate lately (with the archiving, the necklaces, the t-shirt shop, and the security at TT issue--and that's just brokie stuff! I also just HAD to tackle my paper mountain this weekend--that was what I did yesterday.). When I have too much "in the hopper" I often collapse under the weight of the pressure I feel to get it all done, so nothing ends up getting done. It's an awful cycle to be in. I simply suck at time management.

So the stress of fretting over too many serious tasks has kept me away (or mostly away) for three days, and it really has been hard to not be able to read every post. I can't believe I have 684 posts to read (at last count) just in rtprod's "swooning" thread! I seriously cannot imagine being on this board for less than 2 hours a day, and most days I have had to literally pry hands away from the keyboard at 1:30 am or so to get enough sleep for tomorrow.

On top of the Brokie To Do list, I've been feeling this urge to put into action all the lessons brokeback is trying to teach me about making my life my own. One of them things is a better job. I've allowed myself to neglect job-searchiing for the past few months so I could indulge my BBM obsession and be with all you AMAZING brokies every day. And it's been so, so awesome, words cannot describe what you all mean to me and how much I love being a part of this community.

But this past week, it's got to the point where I can't imagine staying in the job I am at for more than another month or so, and staying up half the night here on CT every night is kinda makin it hard to do something about getting that new job! It's a goddamned bitch of an unsatisfactory situation, and so if I can't stand it, I gotta do something about fixing it.

So I am just here letting you know I love you, I've missed you, I wish I knew how to quit you (not really), and that over the next few weeks I may be here less on some days. Please know that it's just because I am trying to get things done for us, &/or for the life I truly want and deserve. (You can also visualize it all going really easily for me so I get a great, well-paying part-time job very soon!)

Don't think for a minute that I am not missing all the laughter and the love that is here in abundance. You will definitely see me--almost everyday, but not as much some nights I think. If I'm not here, feel free to send me PMs, tell me what threads I gotta read, tell me you miss me, just don't you forget about me, don't-don't-don't-don't---don't you, forget about me......

It's sad to see you go.... But if you can't fix it, you gotta stand it.

I am always glad when you are around, Jenny.  I wound up taking an unexpected hiatus this weekend, and it was good to get some sleep.  See you soon.  Hug, Clarissa

Jenny, I'm glad to see that you've been attempting to control the craziness!  You know I miss you around here, but I totally understand the need to take a bit of a break.  We'll be here for ya always - don't worry 'bout that!

Talk to ya soon,

How could we ever forget you Jenny?! You know that won't happen!

I gotta say, I really respect your will power. I apparently don't have any when it comes to you guys. I've got school stuff I really need to catch up on, but it's so hard to tear myself away from here! Especially when my work is on the computer, I think oh, I'll just refresh CT and catch up real quick and then get back to work. Haha, that doesn't happen! And I sleep through classes because I'm so tired from staying up half the night checkin' for damn coyotes...I mean new posts here. Like Mandy (I think) said, I need people to be mean to me here to make me not want to come back.

I'll miss you, but I hope you get your stuff taken care of so you can come back to us soon!

Hi Jenny and all,
I sympathize -- I've been on the board less lately too (although I'm just a slug about it and didn't say anything).  Lots and lots to do in the Other world.  Music to learn, librarying to do, websites to build (more on that later).  I'm trying to be disciplined with myself and it's actually working -- but it means I only check in for a little while at bedtime.

I just wrote an email to a friend I haven't been in touch with for a couple of months, and she said "Oh by the way, how was that LA thing you did?"  I hadn't remembered that I'd told her about it.  I told her it was great... but didn't try to press her hand on the hot burner of how I really feel about it.  It doesn't translate.  I love you guys.

H-pie, if you build websites, I might wanna talk to you about that....let's PM in the next 24 hrs or so....

And thanks for all the sweetness coming out of the woodwork at me! Arrgh...you know it ain't easy to walk away from you all. And believe me I am not leaving for any major stretch of time. Don't think I can. Lol, I'm sure I'll be here in less than 12 hours! But yeah it will take will power to do some of this stuff. I'm not looking forward to that wistful feeling of wanting to check the board. Again, send me your best visualizations of everything being easy and smooth so I can get back to where I belong! ('cause I ....don't want.... to say... goodbye....)

Hi Jenny! I actually had been wondering where you'd been lately. Good for you for putting your Brokie lessons into action. I am inspired; I've been letting my own work slide for the past couple of months. And I certainly don't want my love of BBM to be the cause of me ending up nothin and nowhere.

And Sarah, ditto this:
didn't try to press her hand on the hot burner of how I really feel about it.  It doesn't translate.  I love you guys.

I am learning just to keep my mouth (pretty much) shut. It never works, for me anyway, to gush in the way I would normally be inclined to do. Nobody gets it, and I just wind up scaring them. Thank god for you guys.

Hey Jenny,
Good luck with all the paperwork, finding a new place to pasture the sheep, keeping the dumbass mules in line.....need to go catch a few of 'em myself...
We'll be here when you come back for the next can of beans.
How could you possibly think we'd ferget a lively lil' gal like yourself?

ditto again - Took a friend to see it last week, got the "It was good" then a friendly, but basically incredulous "What  do you guys talk about on that message board?"  Tried to explain....sigh.

It's sorta like Joe Aguirre with his binoculars (but without the creepiness).  They may see the same things as us, but it's from far away and without the necessary understanding er sumthin'

Tell you what, Jenny. Truth is...sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it.
...then you ask me about Mexico and tell me you'll kill me for needing somethin' I don't hardly never get.

Jen, atleast you will have my surprise to (hopefully) cheer you up in a few days.
I could never forget about you Jen! You have your very own place in my heart along with every other Brokie on here. It is surprising I have enough heart left to love my family and friends, but somehow I do.
I will probably face the same situation when I go back to school. But I do not have to worry yet as I am on my "holiday". Plus my "holiday" means I have more time to get your present together! LOL This whole surprise thing is getting more and more intriguing isn't it?  ;)

I guess it will be more like Paper Mountain than Brokeback Mountain for you then. :-*

I know the exact feeling.  I was so proud of myself yesterday - actually did LOTS of stuff other than stay on-line, and then at 9:00, I shut down everything and just had some quiet time & went to bed.

It's wonderful to have some balance back - not to embrace or reject one thing completely, but find the right time and space for everything.

Thanks for the update - good to know you're doing fine.  Be seeing ya ver' soon again, no doubt!

Oh yeah I almost forgot! If you find the time, Jen(it is alright if I call you that, isn't it?), come over to the CASTING.....Casting for the C.T reinactment of Brokeback Mountain.
I suggest you get yourself over there young lady so I can cast you a role, otherwise you will have to put up with being sheep # 243.

You need to get your ass over there too Kelda and decide if you want to be Cassie or not.

I got my ass over there and signed up to be the horse with the low startle point! I've been wantin' someone name a Jack to ride me for a while, now here's my chance!

LOL. Hey, speaking of laughing out loud, I get here at midnight after spending half the night checkin for damn coyotes over on some other yahoo group, and start laughing immediately, then freaking out at all I've missed today! 300 new posts for the rtprod swooning thread to read!
So I've decided--from now on it's work on stuff till 10 pm, and then party with y'all from 10 till 12:30 or 1am! And maybe a quickie at lunch....hehehe.

That sounds like a plan. Makes me happy. A balanced brokie is me.
