Marc Weigle : If you could put the heart and soul of Brokeback into one singer, it would be Marc. Favorites - Blue Eyes to Brown Eyes, Have I Told You in the Last Five Minutes (that I love you), Us Both and Two-Cowboy Waltz.

My favorite of Weigle's is "As It Turns Out."  I think it's on the current play list, at least Phillip told me he would add it, but I've never come across it while listening.

I can't resist:  Mark Isham is a relative of mine, although distant.  Still, I get a thrill of pride every time I see his name on the movie screen.   ;)

Hi,

BBM Radio got another mention on Wranglers LiveJournal community today!

A suggestion for a feelgood tune that is still in keeping with the BBM theme: "Better Together" by Jack Johnson.  It is mainly solo guitar with the following lyrics.  I always think of J & E when I hear it.

There is no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard
And no song that I could sing, but I can try for your heart
Our dreams, and they are made out of real things
Like a shoebox of photographs with sepia tone loving

Love is the answer
At least for most of the questions in my heart
Why are we here and where do we go
And how come it's so hard
It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing
It's always better when we're together

Mmm, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, we'll look at the stars when we're together
Well, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, it's always better when we're together

And all of these moments just might find a way into my dreams tonight
But I know that they'll be gone when the morning light sings
Or brings new things for tomorrow night you see
That they'll be gone too, too many things I have to do
But if all of these dreams might find their way into my day to day scene
I'd be under the impression I was somewhere in between
With only two, just me and you, not so many things we got to do
Or places we got to be, we'll sit beneath the mango tree now

Yeah, it's always better when we're together
Mmm, we're somewhere in between together
Well, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, it's always better when we're together (mmm)

I believe in memories, they look so, so pretty when I sleep
And when I wake up, you look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time
And there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing
We're better together
Old Brokeback got us good and it sure ain't over

I got another suggestion already: Julee Cruise and "Falling", for the romantic floaty mood and the lyric

Then your kiss so soft
Then your touch so warm

The stars still
Shine bright
The mountains still right
Yet something is different
Are we falling in love?
Old Brokeback got us good and it sure ain't over

I've spent the last few hours listening.  Your choices are superb!  Where did you ever FIND all of this?  Congratulations and thanks a lot.
Lean on me, let our hearts beat in time,
Feel strength from the hands that have held you so long.
Who cares where we go on this rugged old road
In a world that may say that we're wrong.

...Cause I know - A love that will never grow old.

Great music , I think I've heard most of the tunes listed.
What I haven't heard is " Trust in Lies" by The Raven Shadows, that snippet of song playing on the juke when Jack attempts to pick-up the rodeo clown.
I've searched hi & lo for that song & I beleive it only exists as filler for that scene.
Does anyone have any info on whether its even published?

I created a Brokeback CD that includes a few I haven't noticed on your 'station'.

These include:

Big Sky Country by Chris Whitley
The End Title to Shawshank Redemption.   This was used in the official movie trailer.
One Safe Place by Marc Cohn.  This was from the soundtrack to Upside of Anger, but fits Brokeback Mountain perfectly.
Melissa by The Allmann Brothers, as used in one of the bar scenes with Cassie and Ennis.

Great job on your 365 station.

Hey Phillip,

Got some more suggestions that are perhaps veering a little way off the true BBM tone but if you're looking for something a bit different here they are:

Long Distance by Turin Brakes
Brass in Pocket by the Pretenders , for Jack trying to impress Ennis!
Don't Get Me Wrong also by the Pretenders, a great song about being and falling in love
Serpentine by Deus

Looking forward to the updated playlist

Here's a tip:  If you create a live365 account and login while you listen, you can click 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' on the current song and the last few songs played.

There's an option to 'remember you' so you don't have to log in each time.

I haven't used the 'thumbs down' yet myself, but I imagine eventually there will be something that needs it!  :D

Yes!  This is important.  We get a report of all the votes on each song, and we will be using that going forward to make decisions which songs to delete from the playlist from time to time.  So, if you're able to vote 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' for each track while you're listening to the station, please do so!  Thanks.  :D
