Who thought this years Grammy Awards were the best ever?
« on: February 12, 2007, 02:08:00 am »
I just finished watching the Grammy Awards !    I thought it was the best one ever!   The opening with The Police, right till the end with the "unknown" winner from a competition getting to perform with Justin Timberlake was really exciting.   I thought all the performers were awesome this year!   I might not agree with The Dixie Chicks winning so many awards for their latest album but I think it was a message to President Bush!

What do you think? Did you watch it?  If so , would love to hear your opinions!  And besides ,David neeeds some polls to moderate! ;)

And a link to a thread about the nominees this year:

I didn't watch, but since I'm not seeing Gustavo nor Rufus on the list of winners, I'm not particularly happy.  I do like the Dixie Chicks - I have since American Travelin' Soldier, so that's something, I guess.

Edit:  Got the song name wrong!--Lynne

I don't think the Dixie Chicks 'needed' to win those 5 awards but .. oh well.

I don't watch the Grammy's year after year, so I have no idea what the others were like..
Performances I liked:

-Christina Aguilera singing "it's a man's world" - She looked great and her voice always blows me away.
-Mary J Blige (her performances always give me goosebumps..)
- Gnarls Barkeley's "Crazy"
Oh..and..
-The soulful trio:  John Legend, Corinne Bailey and John Mayer performing together.  I loved that one.

I am sorry I missed the Police, totally forgot about it, then I turned to it after they were done.  I saw them at the Shea Stadium concert in 1983, great show (wow, so long ago).

I did see the Dixie Chicks, I never particulary liked them but I did think that they were excellent last night.

I guess they are vindicated now ;D
