Edward Scizzorhands by Matthew Bourne on Tour
« on: March 17, 2007, 10:19:16 am »
I'm excited about seeing this dance in April! It's based on the movie and produced by Matthew Bourne, the brilliant mind behind Mary Poppins, The Car Man, and Swan Lake. He's also got a male Romeo and Juliet in the works, entitled Romeo, Romeo, set to the Prokofiev score. Has anyone seen any of these productions??

Starting to get really excited about seeing Edward Scizzorhands! The reviews are excellent. There was a feature story about it in the Denver Post today. "Dancing With Scizzors No Sweat For Bourne" it was titled!!

Lee, we saw "Edward Scissorhands" at the Sadler's Wells in London back in late December of '05 (about a week or so before I saw BBM for the first time).  It was awesome:  great sets and great dancing!  It's was very cleverly done.  We enjoyed it and I would highly recommend it.  You'll love it!

During that vacation we also saw "Billy Elliot, the Musical," which was also very well done.

It was a heavenly performance, very playful and joyful, with excellent sets and music and dancing. Edward's hands were amazing, he could do almost anything with them! The sound of the scizzorblades coming together punctuated the performance and gave everything a crispness. The supporting dancers were astoundingly good too. Laura and I loved the "suburban" costumes and coveted them!

I don't know where you got those pictures, Fran, but when I tried to take just one during the applause, I got evicted from the theater!
