Today in the liquor store I saw a "Congratulations on your new arrival" card (it's a fancy yuppie liquor store with all sorts of stuff). The card featured a pair of sheep. A stork flew over and dropped a baby sheep between them. Cutest damn thing I've seen in awhile, which is probably what you're thinking about little Charlie, and I'm so happy for you.

When I was born, it was by c-section, and in those days, they knocked mothers out with a general anaesthetic. So while my mum was conked out, my dad was the first parent to hold me, to see me. He told me that all he could think was, "I wonder what she'll say?"
I wonder what Charlie will say. I wonder what he'll make of this little old world of ours. I hope, that despite all its troubles, he thinks it's pretty neat to be here. Tell him that we all think it's pretty neat that he's here.
So here's a toast to Charlie Jacob. Long life and good health and loving friends to you, little guy.
