It's a Birthday! Come play "The ABC's of ELLEMENO"

<< < (11/32) > >>

serious crayons:
So are we on Q, then? I'm totally lost. OK, well ...

I have often quoted Ellemeno's wise words in my posts.

Ellemeno:
            LEE, you make me GIGGLE
        KATHERINE, you're HILARIOUS
    ANKE, you are so IMAGINATIVE
SANDY, I love your JOCOSERIOUSNESS
    SARAH, you're a LOVIE-PIE
        LEE, I admire your METTLE
            AMANDA, you're usin' your NOODLE
        MERYL, you are so KINDHEARTED
    JESS, you are NUMERO UNO
JANICE, you are QUENCHLESS
    CRAYONS, you are QUINTESSENTIALLY QUICK-WITTED

Thank you, Buds!  I had a really happy birthday, in RL and here.  Big :-*

southendmd:
Elle, I had this song in my head all day on your birthday, but I couldn't remember all the words:

"A," you're adorable, "B," you're so beautiful,
"C," you're a cutie full of charms.
"D," you're a darling and "E," you're exciting
And "F," you're a feather in my arms.
"G," you look good to me, "H," you're so heavenly,
"I," you're the one I idolize.
"J," we're like Jack and Jill, "K," you're so kissable,
"L," is the lovelight in your eyes.

"M," "N," "O," "P," I could go on all day.
"Q," "R," "S," "T," alphabetically speaking, you're OK.

U," made my life complete, "V," means you're very sweet,
Double-"U" "X" "Y" "Zee."
It's fun to wander through the alphabet with you
To tell you what you mean to me.

Ellemeno:
Paul, thank you so much for that good ol' song.  I have always thought it was fun.  Just goes to show, we're not the first to love the ABCs.  :)

I've been looking for all the words to the Alix Dobkin song from the 1980s, "A, you're an Amazon."  Do you know it?  THIS is the kind of music I was listening to in the 80s:

A, you're an Amazon
B, going Brave and strong
Clearly and confidently, you "C"
D, you Delight me
E, you Excite me
How Fortunate a Female Faculty
"G," I Guess it's Good for me
H, oh How Heavenly
I [something]
J for sweet Justice
K for sweet Kisses
L-E-S-B-I-A-N for Letting go of
M-e
N
Oppression is no longer Over me.
P is Political Power to the Personal
Q is for the Queer you fear you
R
[then I can not for the life of me remember the rest]

I always loved this song, except for the word "fear" in that last line.  And I only had a very brief separatist phase, and don't want to let go of ALL M-e-N.

I'm going to go see if I can find MP3s of Chris Williamson, Meg Christian, Holly Near...thanks for the round about reminder.  :-*

:)

southendmd:
Elle, I missed that g-e-m, but I was generally one of about three men attending Chris Williamson concerts in the 80s.  (I knew all the words.)  In fact, I have Meg Christian's greatest hits in my car right now ("Ode to a Gym Teacher" LOL).  I always found Holly Near annoying and too full of herself.  My friends gave me a button that says "dykeling" with a cartoon of a duck.  I was honored.
