Clearly I thought I knew all there was possible for my mere mortal self to know about our Jakey, but I just discovered a gossipy tidbit so, I was obviously wrong. :P Anyone else heard this (bold purple factoid)?

Best Known For: Adventurous film roles in surreal cult hit Donnie Darko and as a "gay cowboy" in Brokeback Mountain.
Early Life: Jake was born into a Hollywood family. His father, Stephen, is a film director, and his mother, Naomi Foner, is a scriptwriter. His sister, Maggie, has a successful career as a film actress.
Jake made his film debut aged 11 opposite Billy Crystal in City Slickers and he was also cast in a few of his father's films.
He finished Harvard-Westlake School, LA, in 1998, and then attended Columbia University where he studied Eastern religions and philosophy. However, he quit after two years to pursue acting.
Career High: His controversial role opposite Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain won Jake a Bafta and an Academy Award nomination.
Love Life: Jake had a long-term on-off relationship with SpiderMan star Kirsten Dunst, whom he met through his sister in 2002. They split briefly in 2004 but it seems they finally called it a day a year later. The pair still share a dog, Atticus.
Don't Mention: Moulin Rouge. Jake desperately wanted the part played by Ewan McGregor and endured months of singing and acting auditions only to lose out at the last minute.
Words of Wisdom: "You know, it's flattering when there's a rumour that says I'm bisexual. It means I can play more kinds of roles.
"I'm open to whatever people want to call me. I've never really been attracted to men sexually, but I don't think I would be afraid of it if it happened."

i heard he auditioned for the part too, but like you jane i didnt know all that he did to try to get it. He would have done an excellent acting part...because damn I just think everything he touches turns to gold...love that man. Not only is Jake gorgeous he's really talented... A true shinning star.
