Argh...
I'm so frustrated with my computer that I am just sick.
I had a major crash from a really nasty trojan horse virus and the shop had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall Windows XP. I'm rebuilding everything from scratch. Fortunately, I had backed up all my really important documents and my tons of pictures that I downloaded, etc on a separate hard drive.
The bad news is, I've lost some things from Windows that I had before that I do not have discs for. (Like Microsoft Word for example.) Today I discovered that when I try to open any of my .jpg files, they open in some stupid, useless thing called Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Now I can't resize or crop the pics or anything - which I could do before when there were drop-down menus across the top of the window. I have no idea what it was called, but I know it wasn't Adobe. Does anyone know what I mean? You could open several pics side by side, move them, change the size, etc. Now, that capability is just - gone.
I guess my other question is: what do most people use to collect, look at, and edit their Jake pictures and other .jpg pics?
Thanx in advance.
