Jake Gyllenhaal proposes to Reese Witherspoon

Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly proposed to Reese Witherspoon while they vacationed in Italy, but the actress allegedly turned down the proposal. Witherspoon was recently divorced from Ryan Philippe and told Gyllenhaal it was too soon after her divorce for her to think about getting married again.
“Reese says it is just too soon after her divorce from Ryan to think about marrying again. She is madly in love with Jake, but her divorce just became final, and she doesn’t want to rush into anything,” says a source.
Witherspoon also told her ‘Rendition’ co-star that she had to consider her and Philippe’s two children. “Reese wants to take things very slowly because of her two young children. She doesn’t want anything to upset or disrupt them,” said an insider. “It took her a while to introduce them to Jake – she didn’t want then to know they were a couple until they were definitely serious about each other.”
