“I would just like to say to all the ladies out there, I know this is a big weekend for you in North America…this (stands up and points at his body) is Sex and the City – and if you want to see Sex and the City 2 – just see my movie twice.”

- Prince of Persia star Jake GyllenHO, to MTV Canada this week

I think I'm going to go see PoP this afternoon.  I'm in the mood for some silly/fun entertainment.  This will be my first post-BBM Jake movie experience.

So, I just got back from PoP earlier this afternoon!  And, wow, I feel like I need a nap after that movie... so much non-stop, fast paced action!  It was fun and entertaining like I had hoped.  I feel like folks need to go into this film just expecting a lightweight summer-fun movie... not high cinema.  It was interesting how much the film really focuses on and hinges on Jake, and I think he did a pretty good job carrying the film.  It's really quite an impressive cast in addition to Jake... especially Ben Kingsley (I tend to really like him).  I liked that the main female character is also strong and important to the action moving forward/ the plot and isn't just a pretty face.  The accent didn't bother me too much... I felt like Jake carried it off pretty well.  It seemed like he was trying to make the accent a little bit subtle and understated, which seemed to be a good strategy IMO.  Sometimes I think an over-done accent can be worse in acting.

Thank you for the report. Glad you liked it.

Yeah, I really did like it!  And, the people from the audience I overheard coming out of the theater seemed to be saying positive things too.

And, LOL, I'm still kind of exhausted from it.  That really was such a physically demanding film!  The moments when Jake rode horses made me think a tad about Brokeback, since it seems he learned so much about horseback riding from BBM.  And, there is a tent in this film!  But, very little really that sparked BBM memories.
