Stephanie Zacharek, who writes reviews for salon.com, has a negative review for MI3. She also did not like United 93 and I think we all remember that she is the reviewer that slammed BBM. What does she like? How about American Dreamz....

Well American Dreamz was quite appealing though a bit strained at times, but funny.

I can't stand Salon.com, and never have been able to.

I like both Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson in movies. I don't like either in real life. For whatever reason, I'm usually able to forget about that stuff inside the theater.

Not always, though. Katie Holmes kind of creeped me out in "Thank You For Smoking." But that's probably also because she's not the greatest actor and her character was despicable. And at this point I think I'd have trouble watching anything with Tony Curtis or Ernest Borgnine.

Anyway, rt, thanks for the recommendation. I loved "Speed." I probably wouldn't have seen MI3 otherwise, but now I will.

Katie Holmes, hmmm.  Wish I felt differently about her but after more than her fair share of performances, I can't think of a single one that was really "good," though she was fine in Wonderboys I thought, and had Pieces of April stolen away from her by Patricia Clarkson.  She bellyflopped in Batman and Thank You for Smoking.  Ho-hum.

Boy, now it really better be good I guess with people paying to see it.  Do I have to reimburse ya'll if you don't like?

Heh, just read in US magazine that Tom has announced that 'Katie' is now 'Kate'.

Apparently, 'Katie' is a girl's name and Katie is now a 'child-bearing woman'.

Funny how this didn't come from Kate.

[cut to Kathy Bates as Molly Brown in 'Titanic']

You gunna cut her food for her too, Cal?

 :P  Gag me now.
