CellarDweller:
Yeah, his highlights are showing.

Looks like the nest is complete, and momma is sitting there getting prepared for eggs, if they come.
I had to circle the bird/nest, because I couldn't get too close without frightening her, and I didn't want to fly off.
I need to clean the bedroom windows (as you can see - LOL) but I don't think I can do that without sending her flying, so I guess that will have to wait.
CellarDweller:
This nesting update is not much of an update. LOL Momma bird has flown the coop, apparently to get food. I can now confirm that there are no eggs in the nest as yet.
Good news is while she was gone, I was able to open and clean both sides of the windows, as well as relocate my Super Friends to dust/clean the dresser top, so when she gets back, the work is done and she can be seen without startling her.
CellarDweller:
It looks like my Mourning Dove has officially flown the coop permanently.
The nest is still together and undisturbed, but the bird hasn't been around the past two days. I've checked during various times, and the nest remains empty.
I hadn't seen any other birds or animals on the fire escape, I can only speculate that perhaps they found a more desirable location for a nest, and made a new one.

The Canadian organization Tiny Kittens has a bunch of new occupants now!
They go into feral colonies of cats, and trap and treat the cats the capture. Any that can be socialized are, and then they are adopted out. Those that are too feral, are taken to a vet and spayed and neutered, and then released back into their colony, so they can't increase the numbers.
Last week they captured three pregnant cats, and they are working to socialize them, and give them a safe place to have their litters.
As of today, all the cats have given birth, and there are 12 new kittens that will be spayed and neutered and then adopted out.
