Meryl:
Is "I Am Legend" supposed to be anywhere near interesting?  If so, I might consider it.

MaineWriter:
Well, Meryl, having some sense of your movie taste from the movie game, I am not sure "I Am Legend" is really your cup of tea!
Here's the synopsis from Warner Brothers:

Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague -- The Infected -- lurk in the shadows... watching Neville's every move... waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered... and quickly running out of time.

Will Smith plays Robert Neville.

I did dig up one review and basically, this guy says it's lousy:

One has to worry a little bit when the director, Francis Lawrence, counts among his directing credits a Britney Spears music video. It is based on a 1954 book which has been made twice into a movie: "The Last Man on Earth," with Vincent Price and "The Omega Man," with Charlton Heston.

Which person who regularly visits this thread lives near an IMAX theater and is going to go see I Am Legend in order to see The Dark Knight prologue?

For me, the nearest IMAX theater is in Boston so I doubt I will be going....

I might go, I've never been to an IMAX.  I do have fond memories of The Omega Man so I wouldn't mind seeing it updated.  I remember at the time I couldn't understand why the only movie Heston's Neville ever watched was Woodstock, surely he could have found any  number of other movies in such a big city.  I guess being alone for so long it must have been for the happy crowd scenes.

I also saw the first version with Vincent Price, which seemed more like a classic Zombie flick, and didn't think much of it.

MaineWriter:
I saw "Everest" on the IMAX screen at the Museum of Science in Boston, and that was pretty amazing. I can see how a giant version of the Joker might have the effect of blowing people away.

A giant version Heath in any role would certainly blow me away, lol!
