Doesn't make fully sense to me either. Sometimes I'm also a bit surprised by my own reaction. But then, two years have gone by and I still haven't fully figured why Brokeback Mountain has such an effect on me. *shrugs* Some things just are, like you said.
And of course it's very different than it was with my father, but the coping mechanism is the same, only on a different level.
