I'm crossing my fingers Heath will be nominated that day. I mean he is nominated for a GG, for a SAG, why would Oscars overlook him?
Oh, I'm very sure he'll be nominated. The win is much more doubtful.
And imagine the bad, bad PR for the Academy Awards if they didn't nominate him! The Oscar nom news headlines would all be
"Oscar snubs Ledger on the anniversary of his.... "
Given the voting system that lead to the Academy Awards nominations I'm not quite sure all the voters have made the connection between the dates, but otherwise that kind of non-acting related consideration is just the kind of politicking that engenders Oscar noms and Oscar wins IMO.
