Congratulations for Heath for his Golden Globe award. It's bittersweet.

Here's the award presentation on Youtube

At the end, it looks like some folks had tears in their eyes?

Yes, I thought so... and I did, too.

Oh my. It's barely 7am but the day has me already in tears :'(

I watched the youtube Eric posted (thank you Eric :-*). I loved Chris Nolan.
I'm so glad Heath won. His performance as the Joker was incredible and he so deserves it. Yet, there's still bitterness that he didn't win for Ennis.
And of course there's this feeling of too little, too late :(.

 :'(

ditto to all of the above, Chrissi.

An interview with Kim Ledger from yesterday.

Kim: "We are very very proud of our boy and we miss him terribly"...... Aaaaaaaaawh..  :'( :-* :'( :'(

That was so hard to watch! How very amazing to see how 'posed' Heath's father was.. But you could see his emotions building up..

So sad. Still don't get why it had to happen.....  :-X

Good morning Heathens :)

I love the Berlin pics almost as much as the Toronto pics. Couldn't decide which one of the first two I like more, So I'll just post them both, even though they're similar.

Very dignified interview with Kim Ledger.

Everything about Heath, and the people who talk about him, it has all been done with so much dignity. Makes it easier to handle him not being here.

Not sure about making it easier, but you are right about the very dignified talk surrounding Heath.

I do worry about Mathilda though. What I am going to write may be stupid, but I think it could happen. I think Mathilda will have a heck of a time, when older and grasping it all better, not only, because she will not have been raised by her dad, but also, because she will not consciously remember and know her dad, of which all talk so well. I think she will go through sad moments not to have known her father, but I think there will be angry moments too, knowing that she missed out on knowing Heath, who everyone describes as an extraordinary person, innovative actor and great dad. I don't want to sound stupid, but I'm guessing it could all have been much 'easier' for her, if her dad wasn't this man praised so highly by just about everyone who met him and/or worked with him.

Not sure if I explain myself clearly and I totally agree of course with all the remarkable and beautiful things people say about Heath, but I think that that's exactly what will make it even more unbearable for Mathilda, than it is already bound to be..

See, nobody's talking about Brad Renfro much and his child. I say this not out of disrespect to Brad Renfro, of course (I think he was an outstanding actor, but maybe missing Heath's charisma..?)! But the 'hype' about Heath and the praise and all the beauty surrounding Heath, will be very hard for Mathilda to live with, as she will not have her own shared experience with her dad. At least not for long enough.

That's why I said that I am not sure about making it easier - the fact that everyone who talks about Heath, has done it with so much dignity (quite rightly though, of course) - because it makes it even more difficult to accept the fact that we will never meet and know this exceptional man and will never be able to experience and discover more of his work, which is bound to have been of artistic immensity.

Just my thoughts.. and I hope I'm not offending anyone.
