I had a phonecall of the weirder sort with my sister yesterday who, after all that time, had finally watched Brokeback Mountain on dvd. Knowing that she was more the romantic comedy type, I had never tried to persuade her watch it in the first place. Well, now she had. And I had to endure her unrefined judgement...
She: To be honest, I didn't find the blonde guy's acting very convincing.
I (thinking "wtf!?"): I see. Well, at least you have watched it now.
She: Yeah, I just wanted to know what all the fuss was about.
I: Hmmm.
I quickly switched to another topic after that. I'd had a similar experience with my sister in law some time ago. She told me that she hadn't been able to sit through the movie and that she had fallen asleep on the sofa.
Oh well. Let them die ignorant. Who am I to proselytize the heathens pagans?

Pity about your sister. She evidently is no connoiseur of fine acting, that's for sure. Lucky for us and BBM fandom that you have better and more discerning taste. :-*

Well picks herself up off the floor !! Heath is not much of an actor!!! Is she blind and deaf. ??
If nothing else, even if she hated the film, Heath's acting was amazing.
You should get her to listen to his real voice and if nothing else she would have to admit the vocal transformation was pretty amazing.
Oh my, I need to have a lie down now.

Oh wow !!!! to both pictures and the 7777the post.I had not even noticed. It is spooky, as I rang up someones bill today and it was $7.77. Curiouser and curiouser as Alice said.
