A clip from Imaginarium and there's a video with Terry Gilliam talking about the movie, Heath and Johnny Depp:

Who knew before Brokeback what Heath was capable off?

Surely not me. I had heard the name, but all I connected with it was the pretty boy/teenage heart-throb image, in which I was totally uninterested. Who would have thought ...

And Jake, I had never even heard of.

I can't see Heath in this one. It's an Ennis picture (and the make-up artists did a great job, nothing looks artificial, but Ennis (Heath?) looks like forty). Maybe we shoulod have a HHH and an EEE thread? - Just kidding of course!

this image of Ennis, there is something so special/heartbreaking in it...  so much joy and sadness all at once, I think.

Well, even if it was just a teen heartthrob-type role, Heath had me hooked the moment he brushed back Julia Stiles's hair on her front porch after the paintball contest.  I thought to myself this guy is WAY more than a flash-in-the-pan teen heartthrob.  Something in his eyes, and the way he moved his face and body -- very controlled, but very natural also.  I'm glad he quickly moved on to garner more adult roles after that, rather than getting stereotyped.  He was just a genius, not a day goes by that I don't think several times about what a loss to the acting world his death was.  He was just hitting his first stride...

Just to be clear: I hadn't seen a single one of Heath's movies prior to BBM. I just had heard/read about 10 Things and AKT, and Heath's name.

Oh, that's not quite correct: In fact had seen BG prior to BBM. But didn't realize it's the same guy.
