Good morning Heathens
A theatre in Perth is named after Heath. The Heath Ledger Theatre.
That's nice. And sad.
Here's an article. Thanks to BayCity John, who posted this tidbit on FB.
Curtain to rise on State Theatre Centre of WA in January 2011 The highly anticipated State Theatre Centre of Western Australia will open in late January, Culture and the Arts Minister John Day announced today.
The official opening will take place on Thursday, January 27, followed by an opening matinee and evening performance on January 29 by artistic director Andrew Lewis.
The facility, which includes the 575-seat
Heath Ledger Theatre, will be open to the public on January 30 and will host the Perth International Arts Festival as its first major event in February.
Mr Day said the opening would mark a new era for performing arts in WA, with the theatre set to be the most modern and up to date in Australia.
“It will provide a functional and inspiring venue for performers and audiences, and will also be a defining architectural landmark of the reinvigorated Perth Cultural Centre.”
