I need help with the name of a story
If I remember it right, Ennis believes that Jack is dead until one day when he sees a black&white picture of Jack with a horse.
He goes to find Jack, who at this point is living with someone else.
Ring any bells?

Yes, bells are ringing, but not the title: Jack breeds Beagles, Jack's Ex (then-Ex) tries to stir trouble, Jack also thought Ennis is dead, I remember a scene with Ennis driving across a bridge. I didn't read the whole story.
I have the title on the tip of my tongue, but can't grasp it. Maybe it'll come to me over night. Or someone else knows it.
Do you think this is the story you have in mind?

Is it "Once Was Lost."? Oddly enough, I never got around to reading this story either - I may have read the first chapter, I'm not sure. But I'm thinking I remember a synopsis that they each think the other is dead.

I just finished reading "Passion of a Saint" and loved it! The language was a little stilted, but the story had truth in it.
