It might appear this is a duplicate thread, but not really. Because even though we have posted cute and funny animal pictures in other threads, they are all scattered about, and I thought it would be nice to have a thread devoted specifically for cute animal pictures we happen to come across; either pictures of our own pets, or animal pictures we find out there on the Internet.

I got this pic in an e-mail. (I guess I'm cynical--I always check "Snopes".)

This one was true according to Snopes. Here is the story about it:

Awww. That poor baby hippopotamus! He was swept away from his mother and then he was carried out into the ocean by the tsunami.

I'm glad he found a mother in the tortoise. It said the turtle hiss at him during the beginning, but they are very good friends now. Thanks for sharing that story Shasta!

Sharon Amber, that stripped kitty in the tree is one of the prettiest domesticated cats I have ever seen.

I got these in a forward of "cloning gone wrong" or something. There were a number of them. They are more weird than cute.

Sharon Amber, that is the kitty I meant. That kitty is so pretty and cute I can't stand it. I wish I could give her a kiss. I love how she has the orange mixed with the dark stripes. And she looks so clean and soft.

Wombat is one of the options in the poll... and this just reminded me how absolutely adorable wombats are. I remember seeing a wombat in a zoo once when I was a kid and I've always loved them ever since.

Yes Grady is Scotts dog...this dog has not got as much white on his face. But he looks a lot like him..

Some of you might know that I help out at my local cat protction pens every wednsesday - when I arrived there last night there was the most adorable and playful sisters -kittens - in on pen. They had just had the snip so each had a pacth of hair shaved and a few little sticthes but they were running and jumping about like mad! I'll try to download the pics from my phone and post!

Heres a picture of my latest addition who is just chillin' taking in some rays on the lounger.She also loves to cool off by sitting on the top step of the pool.Either that orshe's got piles,nd the wter takes the heat out of them!!!
She is joined by the other 2, who hate the water. The last one is the water baby,just 4 short weeks ago.Smething tells me she is not going to be a small dog.

my cat would HATE that. The twice I've had to bath him.. lets put it this way my arms and any exposed skin were not a pretty site afterwards! Welts and scratches in his attempt to get away.
